Expert Patient Course

Heart disease manifests itself in women with specific characteristics that require dedicated attention.
The event “THE HEART OF WOMEN – Diversity also in Cardiomyopathies” was created to deepen this area of research, from the synergy between
Soroptimist Firenze Due (National Project “CURArSI” – Gender Medicine) and AICARM APS – Italian Cardiomyopathy Association.

Gender-specific cardiology is now a strategic research area: understanding the biological differences between men and women in terms of symptoms, diagnosis, and response to therapy allows for increasingly personalized and effective care for all patients.

Gender medicine and historical memory find their ideal setting at the Istituto degli Innocenti for an experience that combines scientific reflection with an emotional journey through the stories of women past and present. Science, history, and theatrical narration merge to create an engaging experience that invites reflection on the central role of women.

In the afternoon, numerous patients will share and discuss their personal experiences.
