
Dr. Gaetano Giarratana, graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Catania and specialized in Anesthesia and Resuscitation at the same institution.
First medical assistant of the Anesthesia and Resuscitation Service at the Civil Hospital of Palmanova, he was later called as medical assistant co-responsible for the Anesthesia and Resuscitation Service of the Civil Hospital of Vittoria.
He served as a first level medical director at the Health Directorate of the Vittoria hospital.
Subsequently, he was Head of the Epidemiology Service of the Vittoria-Comiso-Acate District and at the same time Head of the SAVE unit of the Prevention Department of the ASL of Ragusa, which he managed in Anesthesia and Resuscitation at the Hospital he himself created for the safety of vaccination clinics.
Teacher in regional and national courses on safety in vaccination rooms and on the treatment of possible adverse reactions to vaccines, he was also the Ausl7 Ragusa Referrer for the thematic area "Immigration" for the socio-health District n43 (law 328/00).
In retirement, in order not to "burn" the experience acquired in the field of resuscitation, he has undertaken several initiatives at school and in the city aimed at training students and citizens on CPR with or without AED. To date, 150 and more subjects from different work environments have been trained
National BLSD instructor of Assoformatori, he is now President of the Association ''Comunità Cardioprotetta Vittoria 2025'' which operates in connection with Aicarm Florence.
