AICARM – Associazione Italiana Cardiomyopatie – works every day to improve the quality of life of those living with a cardiomyopathy. It does so by offering concrete support, disseminating reliable information, training patients and their families, forming a network of specialized doctors and supporting scientific research.
AICARM renews its commitment every year with an increasingly rich program of activities, designed to respond to the real needs of patients, families, schools and professionals.
In recent years he has completed some projects such as: Hearts Listening, a space for listening and discussion with expert volunteers for those living with cardiomyopathy; The Video Library of the Heart, a collection of informative video content, always accessible; Courses for Experienced Patients, to promote information and awareness in the management of the disease and the CPR courses for family members ; CPR courses in schools, a pilot project carried out in Milan that spreads the culture of the importance of resuscitation maneuvers and use of the defibrillator among young students in the fourth and fifth year of high school.
With an even more ambitious future program, AICARM aims to expand its impact, making training, information and assistance accessible to all.
The project FRIENDS OF AICARM embodies the spirit of collaboration that fuels the association. People, companies and different realities choose to join this community, sharing the vision of a world in which no one faces cardiomyopathy alone. Every donation, small or large, supports crucial activities: Scientific research to find innovative therapies, the training of specialized doctors and patients, the dissemination of clear and verified information and finally psychological and practical support to those living with the disease.
2024 marked a milestone: the people who chose AICARM to donate their 5 per thousand have almost doubled compared to the previous year. This result reflects the growing trust of supporters in the way in which AICARM achieves its mission. The increase in donors and voluntary donations also from private individuals demonstrate a sensitivity towards issues such as research, health education and inclusion, core values of the association.
AICARM lives thanks to the generosity of those who share its values and believe in the concrete strength of its activities.
