Prof Franco CecchiDear friends of AICARM,

I open this monthly meeting of ours by announcing an innovative initiative both from the point of view of the organizational model and from that of the nature of the events that we have scheduled. I am referring to the Cardiomyopathy Day that will take place in Florence on November 9, 2024. The format is new, which includes in the morning an improved edition of our courses that receive ever greater attention: the one for the training of expert patients and the one on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) dedicated to the relatives of patients, the latter in collaboration with the Auxologico Institute of Milan. Above all, the afternoon format “Fai Posto al Cuore Talks” is new dialogues dedicated to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. There will be direct testimonies from patients and interventions from experts interspersed with readings from the collection of patient stories “Il Cuore grande” published by AICARM.
Precisely to enrich this heritage of testimonies, we publish in this issue the story of Rossella Repaci and the interview with the Riccione city councilor Filippo Cupparoni. The first convinced of the importance of narrative medicine in the therapeutic path, the second involved in the administration of his Municipality to guarantee the facilities for emergency interventions in public spaces and sports facilities. Finally, we continue our meetings with the volunteers who make the growth and quality of the services of our Association possible.

  The President

Prof. Franco Cecchi
