Genetic analysis campaignAlso this year, AICARM Onlus took part in the CardioMYopathy Awareness Week, an important global initiative dedicated to raising public awareness of cardiomyopathies and the genetic analysis useful for identifying the gene or genes responsible for the development of cardiomyopathy.

The campaign was organized by Global Heart Hub (GHH) and involved 19 patient organizations based in Europe, the United States, Canada and Australia in the week between 26 June and 2 July. Our participation has reached a large audience: thanks to our social channels we have in fact had the opportunity to get in touch with over 160.000 people. The most significant part of the Italian campaign was centered on the 15 questions and answers in genetic counseling for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy collected by geneticist Francesca Girolami in over twenty years of experience.

This work was also published in this newsletter, AICARM NEWS, in the June edition. In one of the next issues we will also publish the results of a survey conducted by geneticists Francesca Girolami and Maria Iascone, in collaboration with AICARM, on the times and methods of genetic analysis for cardiomyopathy, in the various centers in Italy.

We thank all those who took part in this event and contributed to its success and to the diffusion of useful knowledge for the management of cardiomyopathy, and in particular Matteo Pinciroli, responsible for AICARM of contacts with GHH and current Chairman of the "Council of Cardiomyopathies" in GHH and Paolo Palma for diffusion on social networks.
