Webinar
Atrial fibrillation is the most common heart rhythm disorder, but also one of the most insidious for those living with cardiomyopathy. It often occurs silently, but it can increase the risk of heart failure and serious complications such as stroke.
In this new AICARM Webinar, we'll explore what atrial fibrillation is, why it occurs, and, most importantly, what tools we have today to prevent, control, or eliminate it.
Using clear, simple language, our experts will guide us through the most innovative techniques—such as ablations, which aim to eradicate the disorder at its source—and the most effective pharmacological treatments to protect the heart and improve quality of life.
Programme
During this approximately 45-minute AICARM Webinar, Dr. Paolo De Filippo, cardiologist and Head of the Electrophysiology and Electrostimulation Unit of the Cardiovascular Department at Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital in Bergamo, will explain in simple terms what happens to the heart when atrial fibrillation occurs, the most common causes, and the most effective treatments.
Dr. Niccolò Maurizi, cardiologist and moderator of the meeting, will lead the discussion by asking the most useful questions for patients and families, clarifying practical doubts and dispelling common misconceptions.
Among the topics that will be addressed:
- What is atrial fibrillation and how does it manifest itself?
- Why it appears and what factors favor it
- Pharmacological and interventional therapies available today
- The new frontiers of ablation to eliminate it at the root
As always, there will be a final Q&A session for the public, offering personalized and concrete answers to patients and their families.
