Let's celebrate the birthday with new ideas and new services
Dear friends of AICARM,
The Italian Cardiomyopathy Association celebrates its fifth anniversary. Below you will find a brief summary of its first steps and the efficient, vast and branched reality that our community has become. Allow me not to hide my satisfaction because we can celebrate the anniversary by offering another innovative product created by our team. The “Videoteca del cuore” is a multimedia archive of high educational and scientific value, accessible to all, designed to improve the lives of patients and their families.
Building a large community of doctors, patients and families
Five years of passionate work since, in December 2019, we created the AICARM Association to make our members and their families aware of the problems that arise from these heart muscle diseases called "Cardiomyopathies", with which affected patients must learn to live for the rest of their lives.

An international network against rare diseases
An international network against rare diseases
Be careful not to consider rare diseases as marginal. This is the risk that, according to Professor Giuseppe Limongelli, director of the Rare and Hereditary Cardiovascular Diseases Unit at the Monaldi Hospital in Naples, is becoming concrete in "a healthcare system that is increasingly turning towards the private sector".

Milan, CPR training course for high schools
After its debut at Liceo Leone XIII, the program continues with other schools: on December 5, students from the Leopardi Institute and the Berchet High School participated in the course. AICARM is promoting a training course for high schools in Milan during the 2024/2025 school year, in collaboration with the Auxologico Institute and Fapy srl. Following the guidelines of the Italian Resuscitation Council, the course includes theory on the recognition of cardiac arrest and practice on cardiac massage and use of the AED, with the release of a certificate valid for training credits. The project involves approximately 10 classes and includes three-hour sessions.
EUPATI Campaign: “We are research. All together from science to cure”
AICARM APS has joined the EUPATI campaign “We are research. All together from science to cure” which started in December and will continue until next June. Clinical research is essential to develop new therapies and save lives, thanks to the collaboration between doctors, scientists and patients. Participating in clinical trials allows access to advanced treatments and contributes to medical progress. The campaign “Research is us. All together from science to cure”, promoted by the EUPATI APS Expert Patient Academy and 47 associations, offers informative videos and testimonials from expert patients to explain how research works, the protections provided and the requirements for participation.
